Witchcraft, Pitt-Rivers Museum, Oxford

Ancient ex-votos to thank religious figures for curing diseases, excavated near Rome

"Object, said to be a toad, stuck with thorns for witchcraft purposes"

"Bullock's heart, pierced with large nails & thorns, found in a chimney, Shutes Hill Farm, Chipstable, Somerset, 1892; placed there to cause harm to someone by 'witchcraft.'"

A beeswax figure used as a "voodoo doll."
